How ‘FEMALE TOUCH’ is good in your business?

Victory for Women in Business. FTSE 350 boards now 30% female

FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE HISTORY OF THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE, WOMEN NOW MAKE UP ALMOST ONE-THIRD OF ALL BOARD DIRECTORS.

According to the researches, 903 out of a total of 3008 UK board positions are currently held by female directors. This stands in stark contrast to 2010 when they only made up 12.5% of FTSE 100 boards and 9.5% of FTSE 350 boards.

Although this still falls short of government targets (33% by 2020), the campaign group see it as a major victory for great workplace parity:

‘This is an incredible milestone on the journey towards greater diversity and gender parity on company boards. The fact that we’ve met our 2020 target ahead of time means the narrative is working,’ said Brenda (Hebb) Trenowden CBE , global co-chair of the lobby group @30% Club.

As a Chartered Management Accountant specialised in #Construction Industry dominated by males – I see even more how important is to be engaged in supporting women in business. Balance is good not only in #finance but in management as well. It is always valuable for businesses!

And what is your opinion, HOW GENDER EQUALITY IS GOOD IN YOUR BUSINESS/SECTOR?
