The Prevail Accountancy team was at Xerocon 2026 last week. We report back on some important announcements for Xero users and some fantastic insights into small business development and digital transformation.
All of the Prevail Accountancy team are huge fans of Xero financial software. We’ve helped many businesses make the move from dated, on-premises systems to Xero’s cloud-based solution. So it wasn’t a surprise to find some of us at Xerocon London 2026 last week!
Prevail Accountancy founder Kasia attended with our IT developer and analytics expert Luke and Ollie, the customer service specialist from BuildQS. Here are the team’s key takeaways from the event.
#1. The era of agentic AI is here!
If there was one overriding message from Xerocon this year, it was to usher in the agentic AI era.
Some of the most exciting new product announcements from Xero were about artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements to the software. Xero announced XeroForce and JAX inside Claude – saying that the integration of AI capabilities into the Xero platform is all about giving practices more room to do the work that matters most.
We’re total believers in this message. Firms shouldn’t be standing on the sidelines. We need to roll up our sleeves and understand the opportunities available to us. Work will be totally transformed by AI and the emerging agentic workforce. Those who don’t start advancing their AI capabilities now will surely get left behind – and will have a lot of catching up to do if they are to stay relevant.
For Xero users, JAX is the agentic platform you can use to automatically reconcile your books and chase invoices.
XeroForce is Xero’s natural language custom AI agent builder powered by Xero OS. Without writing a single line of code, accountants and small businesses can build custom AI agents that connect Xero to third-party tools. It is available in early access now, with general availability coming later this year.
We’re also really excited to see the Microsoft 365 Copilot integrations which have been promised. The goal is to allow customers to securely access and use their live Xero financial data directly from the tools that we’re already working in day to day.
#2. We fell in love with Prue Leith’s recipe for success
The speakers on stage at Xerocon this year were truly inspirational. We particularly enjoyed listening to Great British Bake Off judge, Dame Prue Leith DBE.

Prue shared her preferred recipe for success with the audience. It’s a simple recipe with just three ingredients: Exercise less. Eat well. Love.
#3. Xero made many new product feature announcements
Xero announced a number of exciting new product features at the conference, including Smart Document Capture as well as new payments and cash flow capabilities in Xero.
We were particularly impressed by the AI-powered enhancements to Payment Follow Ups. Powered by JAX, it will analyse each customer’s unique payment history and automatically execute tailored collection plans. It will adapt its approach – whether consolidating invoices, sending timed nudges or switching to SMS – based on payment behaviour in order to help businesses get paid faster.
Another convenient new application for AI is the Smart Document Capture. You can now use the Xero Accounting app to photograph a physical receipt and Xero records the details for you. You can double-check and approve the info before Xero creates a financial record, making it easy to accurately and quickly capture invoices, bills and other paperwork in one easy digital workflow.
#4. It was great to meet our existing partners – and some new faces
The Prevail Accountancy team were thrilled to meet up with some of our existing partners who also work within the Xero partner network.
We were delighted to hear about the latest developments from the team at Fathom, the reporting, forecasting, analysis, consolidation and benchmarking for advisors and businesses. We also spent time with the wonderful team at Allica Bank, with whom we’ve enjoyed working on some fantastic joint marketing initiatives.
We made some interesting new connections that we can see aligning with some of the needs of our customers, including MayDay. It offers a solution for bridging the critical gap between your bookkeeping and reporting tools and automating the complex month-end operations that happen in between. It integrates with both Xero & QuickBooks.
#5. Louis Theroux was impressive and inspirational
Another of the guest speakers at Xerocon this year was the genre-defining documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux. His talk was equally as inspirational as Prue’s.

His advice? Success comes when you be yourself – so be authentic.
#6. There are a lot more product enhancements on the horizon
Exciting as the announcements were this Xerocon, the Xero team were very clear about the accelerating pace of digital transformation in their own product and in AI generally. We can expect many more enhancements and announcements to follow.
Our key takeaway: We must adopt and use AI so that it works for us. The possibility for change is vast – and we must all grasp the opportunity and make it work in a way that suits us.
