Laura Michalska
Finance Manager
Laura is a CIMA-qualified Management Accountant with more than 10 years commercial experience. After cutting her teeth in the construction industry as trainee accountant at a plant hire firm, Laura spent the next eight years of her career at telecoms company Talktalk.
There, she started as Finance Analyst, progressed to Management Accountant and then was promoted to FP&A Manager. As FP&A Manager she was involved with budgeting, forecasting, board reporting and telling a story with numbers. Later, as Commercial Finance Manager, she worked as a bridge between the two different worlds of finance and the business, helping to explain the numbers to non-finance people.
Laura’s wealth of experience is a huge boon to Prevail Accountancy customers. Laura says, “If you look at the numbers and don’t understand them, decisions are based on guesswork. That’s why I love being able to explain the numbers clearly so they influence decisions in the right way.”
As well as being mum to twin boys, Laura is a keen amateur barista. Her signature cup? A flat white with a coffee-art heart. She also loves doing yoga as a peaceful escape from the chaos of being a mum to twin boys!
